Dynamos have never won Africa's premier club competition, but they were finalists in the 1998 version of the African Champions League, losing out to ASEC Abidjan from Cote d'Ivoire, and semifinalists in 2008.
The club is the most successful on the domestic scene in Zimbabwe having won 18 League titles and five cups, including seven championship titles in the 1980s when they were at their peak.
The club has seen much top Zimbabwean talent come through its ranks over the years. Moses Chunga is considered by many to be the nation's greatest player of the modern age, whilst George Shaya was the best of the pre-Independence Rhodesia.
Current coach Elvis Chiweshe is regarded as one of Zimbabwe's greatest ever dead-ball specialists.
