Mamelodi Sundowns

Nickname:
The Brazilians
Founded:
1970

Coach Pitso Mosimane has overseen an overhaul of the Mamelodi Sundowns squad, with a number of top signings for the team.
He has been tasked with taking them back to the top of South African soccer again after a dismal campaign in 2012/13 when they finished 10th.
Traditionally part of the 'Big Three', they have benefited from the millions spent by owner Patrice Motsepe in recent years, but truth be told he has not got the return he would have hoped for in terms of trophy success.
Their last piece of silverware came with the 2008 Nedbank Cup, though they have reached a number of finals in-between.
Sundowns do have five PSL titles to their name, three between 1998 and 2000, and another two in 2005/06 and 2006/07.
The Brazilians have twice been runners-up in the Telkom Knockout: last season they lost to Bloemfontein Celtic, while the same fate befell them in 2007 against Kaizer Chiefs.
