Known by the nickname ‘Djurtus’, Guinea-Bissau have never qualified for either the FIFA World Cup or CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

Traditionally regarded as one of the weakest teams on the continent, Guinea-Bissau last attempt to qualify for the AFCON (the 2013 edition) ended in the first round when they were beaten 2-0 on aggregate by West African powerhouses Cameroon.

The Djurtus are coached by former Portuguese international Carlos Manuel, who took charge of the team in 2012.
